1. Who We Are
PED Technology Ltd ("we", "our", or "us") coordinates the secure retirement, certified destruction, and responsible reuse of IT equipment for businesses worldwide. PED Technology Ltd is a company registered in England & Wales (Company No: 17083558) with its registered office at Swan Building, 20 Swan Street, Manchester, United Kingdom, M4 5JW. This Privacy Policy explains, in plain language, what information we collect, why we collect it, what we do with it, and what rights you have over it — wherever you are in the world.
2. What Information We Collect
We only collect what we need. Here's what that looks like:
- Information you give us: Your name, email address, phone number, company name, and any message you send through our contact form. You choose what to share — we never ask for more than we need.
- Information collected automatically: When you visit our site, we collect basic technical data like your IP address, browser type, device type, which pages you visit, and how long you spend on them. This is only collected if you accept analytics cookies.
- Cookies: Small text files stored on your device. We explain exactly which cookies we use in Section 8 below.
3. Why We Use Your Information
We use your information for these specific purposes:
- To respond to your enquiries and provide the services you asked about
- To understand how people use our website so we can improve it
- To send you marketing emails — but only if you've explicitly opted in, and you can unsubscribe at any time
- To meet our legal obligations (for example, keeping records required by law)
4. Who We Share Your Data With
We do not sell your personal information. We never have, and we never will. This applies regardless of where you're based — including California and other US states with privacy laws.
We may share data with a small number of trusted service providers who help us run the site and our business, for example:
- Google Analytics — to understand how visitors use our site (only if you accept analytics cookies)
- Our web hosting provider — to serve the website to you
All service providers are required to handle your data securely and only use it for the purpose we've specified.
5. International Transfers
PED Technology Ltd is based in the United Kingdom and works with clients and partners around the world. If you're visiting from outside the UK, be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the UK. When we use service providers (like Google Analytics) that store data outside the UK or EU, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place — such as Standard Contractual Clauses — to protect your data to the same standard.
6. How Long We Keep Your Data
We keep your data only for as long as we need it. Contact form enquiries are retained for up to 24 months unless we need to keep them longer for legal reasons. Analytics data is automatically deleted by Google after 14 months. You can ask us to delete your data at any time — see Section 7 below.
7. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights over your personal data:
Everyone
- Access — Ask us what personal data we hold about you
- Correction — Ask us to fix any inaccurate information
- Deletion — Ask us to delete your data
- Withdraw consent — Change your mind about cookies or marketing at any time
UK & EU Residents (GDPR / UK GDPR)
- Right to restrict or object to processing
- Right to data portability (receive your data in a common format)
- Right to complain to your local data protection authority (in the UK, this is the Information Commissioner's Office)
California Residents (CCPA / CPRA)
- Right to know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose
- Right to delete your personal information
- Right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information — we do not sell or share your data, so there is nothing to opt out of
- Right to non-discrimination — we will never treat you differently for exercising your privacy rights
Other US States (Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, etc.)
If you're a resident of another US state with a consumer privacy law, you generally have similar rights to access, delete, and correct your data, and to opt out of targeted advertising. Since we don't sell data or run targeted advertising, these rights are already met. If you'd like to make a request, contact us using the details in Section 10.
8. Cookies & Tracking
